Peace is always available
Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as you think it should be. Finding peace doesn’t mean we are free from struggles; it just means we have learnt not to get sucked into the highs or the lows and can find our sense of balance and ease wherever we are. Inner peace is always, always, always possible, no matter what your monkey mind tells you. It is what is here and available when everything else falls away. What disturbs our sense of peace is the belief that what is actually happening should be different.
Furthermore, living in peace is not about having the right situations, people, or reactions in our lives. It is about the present moment and every subsequent moment. When we interpret, justify, explain, analyze, fantasize, or engage in wishful thinking about what is happening, we are resisting it. When we let go of the functions of the mind, we can see things as they are. We can live in peace. So, today, set your intentions to be at peace. Peace is here, available, even ordinary. And you always have a choice to practice stress or peace. Today, consciously choose to accept life as it is right now and to be at peace.
Just for today, I recognize that peace begins within me. The more peaceful I am inside the more peace I have to share with others. I cannot fix other people. They must do their own work and they will do it when they are ready. I am at peace even in the midst of chaos. No person, place or thing has the power to upset me. I now live in peace and gratitude. Everything is working out for my highest and out of this situation only good will come. And so it is.
