Comparing yourself to others is a waste of time

“Why compare yourself with others? No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than you.” We all do it or have done it at some point in our lives: We compare ourselves to others and gauge where we are based on what we observe them to be doing. If this was simply an observation, that would be one thing. But in comparing ourselves to others, we often end up judging ourselves. The thing about comparison is that there is never a win-everyone loses, especially you. But our minds do want to quantify. Our minds want to rank and file and organize information. Our mind wants to know where we fit into the scheme of things. . So, it may be unrealistic to ask your mind to just stop comparing. Today instead of completely stopping comparing yourself to others altogether, why not simply redirect the comparison to a past and a present self and keep the comparison within? You are always becoming more. Who you are today is a result of the decisions you made yesterday. You are always in a state of creation. In truth you are exactly where you need to be. Today, keep your focus on all you have accomplished and all you wish to create and watch the miracles unfold. In truth, you are perfect just the way you are right now.

Just for today, I accept my uniqueness. There is no competition or comparison for we are all different and were meant to be that way. I no longer judge or criticize myself. I am free to love who I am. I am good enough. And so it is.
